Unique Excursions to Historic Henley-in-Arden

Wave-Line.png

Transport Museum Wythall is pleased to announce two excursions to the historic market town of Henley-in- Arden, with origins dating back to the 12th century.

It lies within the former Forest of Arden. We have worked with our friends at the newly restored and re-purposed the original Great Western Railway station, a stop on the Shakespeare Line from Birmingham to Stratford upon Avon.

The building includes The Station Bar, serving a variety of hot, cold and alcoholic beverages to suit every taste. The bar serves real ales in the wonderful ambience of a traditional country station building, full of character and original features.

Our nostalgic journey through the Warwickshire countryside on our recently restored 1960’s Stratford Blue Leyland Tiger double decker bus takes around 45 minutes. We are offering two options, depending on your day of travel – a Fish and Chip lunch or a Henley Walking Tour and Afternoon Tea.

FISH AND CHIP LUNCH (NOW FULLY BOOKED).

This tour operates on Thursday June 4th and Friday June 19th and tickets are priced at £22 per person, which includes a portion of fish and chips.

We depart the museum at midday, arriving at 12.45. On arrival your Fish and Chips (included in the ticket) will be ready to serve for you to enjoy, with your beverage of choice. With a return departure time of 15.45, you will have time to walk into Henley where the High Street offers a number of shops and the Henley Heritage Centre. With free entry, the Centre is well worth a visit

WALKING TOUR AND (optional) AFTERNOON TEA.

This tour operates on Thursday July 2 and Thursday July 16 and tickets are priced at £12.Your choice of afternoon tea must be purchased separately using this link: https://goodeats.io/henleysandwichshop. It will be served on your return from the walking tour.

We depart the museum at 13.00, arriving at 13.45.
Step back in time and enjoy a wonderful heritage afternoon out in the beautiful market town of Henley in Arden.

We arrive at The Station Bar in the converted station building, where drinks will be available to
purchase on arrival. You’ll then enjoy a guided tour of the fascinating Henley Heritage
Centre and the historic Guild Hall and gardens, with the opportunity to follow Henley’s
Heritage Walking Trail and discover the town’s rich history at your own pace.

After exploring, return to The Station Bar for c15.15, where your pre-ordered Afternoon Tea
will be waiting for you in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Then sit back and enjoy your
return journey to Wythall departing at 16.15.
