Omnibus 205 - July 2011

DESTINATIONS

The back page photograph in 'Omnibus' no.204 was in fact one blind cut into two (or more) pieces. From photographed records it is a Lea Hall blind from 1968/1969. There were at least two printings of this blind so a precise date is unknown of this particular example.

A recent donation of blinds from someone in Hunt End, Redditch included an almost new West Bromwich Corporation side blind, which has been fitted to No.248 to replace a very worn one previously fitted. Derek Potter has donated an early 1950s Miller Street blind with a 1957 addition, while the Yardley Wood Bus Club has donated several WMPTE and Midland Red number blinds, all of which will come in useful in due course.

Also on the subject of number tracks a newly-printed batch of 'thin' Midland Red number tracks has now been received for use in various vehicles that had this type.

Meanwhile Alan McKnight from Manchester has donated rollers and roller ends of various types and ages for use as and when required. (Alan also gave us a quantity of 'Buses' magazines to replenish the rack mentioned in a previous edition of 'Omnibus'.)

Many thanks to all donors.

Bob Williamson
