Now A grant for the Photo Archive Too
The Museum has gained another small grant from Worcestershire County Museum Service and the West Midlands Hub. It is for £1000, the maximum amount available for this type of grant.
Malcolm Keeley had proposed the acquisition of photograph sleeves made from special material that minimises deterioration of the photos. Thanks to this grant, we now have 7000 of these sleeves coming, together with equally special paper to tuck into the sleeves to pencil the photo details on, instead of writing on the back - very naughty! Malcolm had picked up this correct practice from one of the courses he had attended.
As well as their protection of our archive stock; the employment of best practice will impress when we go for Accreditation in 2008. The only cost to BaMMOT will be the VAT.
It is a mark of the Museum's stature that this is the third such grant in a year, the others being for the purchase of the drawing scanner ('Omnibus' no.170) and the refurbishment of the café ('Omnibus no.174), bringing the total to over £7000, for all of which the Trust is most grateful.
