MALTESE SON WITHDRAWN

The former BMMO SON, GHA323, was finally taken out of service and moved to the Malta Pulic Transport Association storage facility at Paola at the end of September 2003. There she awaits her fate; probably scrapping.

However, it is understood that sale for preservation would be possible, at a cost of just over £1500. Shipping back to Wythall would add another £2000 and even then Peter Murphy would need to spend a weekend “knocking up” a replica body!

Is this the end of the last SON, or will the saga continue?

Adrian Rodgers

Does GHA323 have the honour of being the last BMMO-built vehicle in regular revenue earning service? Or does anyone know of any other example still in service? (For the purposes of this question, we are excluding preserved vehicles that have current COFs.)
